Camp Noel Porter Board
Board Member

The Rev. Dave Rickert

Occupation and Employment: I currently work at St. Jude's Episcopal Church in Cupertino two Sundays a month as a Deacon, where I also do youth group work with kids on the Autism spectrum. And I work at Trinity Episcopal Church in Folsom two Sundays a month as a Deacon as well.

Education: I completed a Masters of Divinity from Church Divinity School of the Pacific in 2015. I also hold a Bachelor of Architecture from Cal Poly.

Previous Employment: As a registered architect, I had a busy career in commercial architecture engaged in projects around the world.

Camp Experience: My own children enjoyed many summers at Camp Noel Porter; my oldest son proudly recalls moving up to the job of “dish pan boy.” In my own youth, summer camp and youth group formed an understanding of how we are each God’s beloved.

Why I’m excited to serve on the Camp Noel Porter Board: I am honored to be part of the vision that builds upon the strong foundation of many rich years of summer camp at Camp Noel Porter.

Personal Information: I was raised in Northern California on my family’s ranch, where hard work joined with unlimited opportunities to witness God’s blessing in our created world. It was by serving the homeless and those living with chronic illnesses that I discovered my call. Gardening, both ornamental and food-producing, is a significant source of my connection to God. My spouse, a teacher at Folsom Prison, and I have three happy kids, all in their 20s. Our first grandchild is on the way and I’m already planning the tree fort.
